概要 Description
Active English is designed to foster practical English proficiency in line with the faculty’s philosophy of “Integration and Co-creation.” The course develops the four skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—in an integrated manner through regular use of English. Vocabulary and expressions learned prior to university are reinforced and expanded, enabling engagement in critical thinking in English regardless of initial proficiency level.

Materials addressing international and social topics provide opportunities for discussions, debates, and presentations, which cultivate logical communication skills and an appreciation of diverse perspectives. Beyond language acquisition, the course emphasizes the development of three core abilities valued by the faculty: critical thinking, expressive ability, and collaborative skills. These competencies support active participation in the global community and contribute to the creation of innovation.
目的 Objectives
Students develop and apply their English speaking and listening skills while engaging with international and social topics, and actively cultivate critical thinking and logical communication in English.
到達目標 Outcomes
Through this course, the following abilities will be developed:

Vocabulary and Expression: Connecting previously learned English knowledge to practical proficiency and applying it flexibly in both everyday and academic contexts.

Information Processing: Accurately comprehending English texts as well as audio and video materials, summarizing key points, and presenting them concisely.

Logical Communication: Expressing ideas clearly and logically, engaging in discussion while providing appropriate evidence and reasoning.

Intercultural Understanding: Appreciating diverse perspectives grounded in different cultural and social backgrounds, and fostering mutual understanding.

Collaborative Thinking: Working constructively with others through the exchange of ideas and developing cooperative approaches to problem-solving.
