概要 Description
This course is a seminar on books, reviews, or research papers of the relevant research areas. The course students should acquire expertise in the research area and English skills as well.
The objectives of this course are to provide basic theoretical knowledge in the electronic structure of strongly correlated electron systems and transparent conductive oxides. Students should prepare a critical review of a paper on a selected topic and give a presentation on that to acquire basic presentation and English skills. By achieving the above tasks, students will also learn the research ethics and a proper research behavior as an independent scientist. Part of the aim of this course is to provide the student with the abilities spelled out in diploma policies (1)–(3) of the master’s course.
1. Understanding the basic theoretical frameworks of the electronic structure of strongly correlated electron systems. (1) Acquiring the basic knowledge of the electronic structure in localized electron systems. (2) Understanding the fundamental concept of electron correlation. (3) Understanding the close relationship between electron correlation and photoemission spectra. 2. Acquiring output skills including composition, presentation in Japanese and English.
