Class plan

All students are required to attend more than 50%.
First semester:
(1) Set up a study goal with a psychological or theoretical theme on higher brain functions while learning anatomical and physiological knowledge: neocortex, neurons, synaptic connections, column structures, firing mechanism, transmission of spikes, synaptic plasticity (LTD/LTP), neurotransmitters (Glu, GABA), and neuromodulators (dopamine).
(2) Propose the methodology and make a study plan on cognitive functions using the methodology as follows: cognitive science and computational neuroscience.

Second semester:
(1) Learn information processing and nonlinear dynamics in the brain.
(2) Design a paradigm for a psychological experiment or a mathematical neural network model for numerical experiments. Review related papers for the validity of the study plan. Preparatory experiments will be required to solve potential issues.
