The regular syllabus has been posted below - please refer to it before coming to class each week to familiarise yourself with the course schedule.

準備学習・復習 Preparation and review
All homework assignments must be completed before class.
Any assigned reading or viewing must be completed before class.
Each week, students will be required to read at least one passage in the textbook, which we will discuss in the following week.
There will also be one supplementary reading task assigned.

Students will be expected to....
1) review basic textbook content covered week-to-week in class;
2) complete HW activities where appropriate (not every week) (Note: the final slides of each week's slide deck will list the required HW tasks)
3) review key vocabulary to facilitate learning of course content
4) contact classmates when preparing for their group presentations
5) contact their teacher directly (via email) when unclear on any tasks or to consult them on other matters (attendance etc.) according to proper email etiquette (guidelines on this will be provided in Lesson 1)
成績評価方法 Performance grading policy
Grades will be calculated as follows:
25% Group presentations (to be conducted in lesson 7 or 13)
30% In-class quizzes (conducted basically every 2 weeks). Students will be asked to take a short 10-question quiz almost every other week.
The top 6 scores will be used to obtain a score of 60 points, which will be then divided by 4 (to obtain a score out of 15 points).
30% Final Test (conducted in lesson 14)
15% In-class participation (students who use English frequently in class can receive a high score).
NOTE: In order to receive a high score for participation, grammatically-perfect English is neither required nor expected; effort will be rewarded.
