概要 Description
英文資料をもとに、専門分野(液晶)について学習する。
科学技術論文を読解できるようになると共に、論文作成方法の基礎を学ぶ。 Based on English materials, students learn about their specialized field (liquid crystals). Students will be able to read scientific papers and learn the basics of writing papers.
The curriculum and diploma policy of this department stipulates that "going beyond the framework of existing engineering, merging and developing basic science with free ideas, and creating new materials and new engineering that contribute to the development of industry." Based on the philosophy of materials engineering, in line with the educational objective of ``cultivating creative human resources who can contribute to society based on their expertise in materials engineering,'' students acquire the specialized knowledge necessary for research in the field of materials engineering through reading literature. The purpose of this course is to acquire academic English proficiency. 到達目標 Outcomes
専門分野において必要な知識を習得すると共に、学術英語能力を身に付けることができるようになる。
In addition to acquiring the knowledge necessary in a specialized field, students will be able to acquire academic English skills. 卒業認定・学位授与の方針との関係(学部科目のみ)

準備学習・復習 Preparation and review
(Advance preparation: about 120 minutes) The basic flow of the class is 1. Read English, 2. Translate into Japanese, and 3. Explain the content, so prepare for the following. As well as the content, read the literature in advance, paying attention to pronunciation. Especially when you are in charge, as a general rule, do enough research so that there are no unclear parts (so that you can answer questions). (Review: about 120 minutes) Review what you learned in class, such as things you didn't understand in advance preparation. Also, read the English aloud again, check the pronunciation, and try to understand the meaning directly from the English. 成績評価方法 Performance grading policy

授業計画 Class plan
Attendance at all on-site classes is required in principle. Furthermore, the performance grading points are based on the "Performance grading policy". 1. In this lecture, each student read the English text, translated it into Japanese, and explained the contents, and moreover, becomes readable. 2ー7. As you become able to comprehend scientific and technical English, you will acquire fundamental knowledge related to the physics, chemistry, and engineering of liquid crystals. 8-15. Read literature (papers) related to the graduation research theme to deepen understanding of the research topic. 担当教員の実務経験とそれを活かした教育内容 Work experience of the instructor
