概要　Description
修士課程1年での経験と実績を踏まえ, 具体的な研究計画・研究の遂行を行なう能力を身につける.

Based on experience and achievements in master course first year, students acquire the ability to conduct specific research plans and research.
目的　Objectives
学術研究は日進月歩であり、土木工学においても例外ではない。学部卒業論文を含めたこれまでの成果に対して、計画分野における最新の研究成果や実務の動向を踏まえた課題に取り組み、学術の発展に資する研究が遂行できる能力の獲得を目的とする。具体的には、研究・実務の動向をレビューして研究内容を深く検討し、テーマに即した適切な調査・実験設計を行い、解析を通じて論理的妥当性を確認する。くわえて、内外でのディスカッションを行うことで、内容を精査し、高い研究能力を醸成する。

To develop skills and capability for accomplishing own research project related with civil engineering.
This course also covers engineering ethics.
到達目標　Outcomes
  1. 研究テーマを定め，社会的な意義を説明することができる．
  2. 関連する既往の研究をレビューすることで，現状の課題を把握することができる．
  3. 課題を解決する計画をたて，研究を試行・検討・実行することができる．
  4. 研究成果を学外に向けて発表することができる．

  1. Students can set research theme and explain the aim and the objective of the theme from the view point of social, engineering, or/and scientific background.
  2. Students can review the necessary literature, make a research plan, conduct experiments, and collect and analyze the data.
  3. Students can deliver a dissertation that includes aims and objectives, argument, literature review, data collection, data analysis, and conclusions.　
  4. Students can make a presentation about research works at an international conference.

指導教員の指示を適宜受ける。結果、問題点について適宜指導教官に報告する。　

Students should proceed their research projects under regular instructions by academic supervisor. Also, students should discuss problems and results with academic supervisor regularly.

授業計画で示されている次のステップについて準備を進める．
Students should deepen knowledge of their research through review of literature and books and discussion with their academic adviser before conducting experiments, field surveys, and data analyses.
After them, students should conduct data analyses and discuss the results with their supervisor.

文献研究および実験研究から得られた研究成果をまとめたレポートおよびディスカッションにより評価する　
Assessment is done by research presentation in lab. seminar and research progress through the course.
