建築設計スタジオは，スタジオ毎の特色ある実習を通じ，生きた知識や技術修得のための教育プログラムを提供する場である．同時に，実社会での建築設計にかかるデザインリテラシーを身につけ，芸術工学とデザイン工学の融合・連環を試行するデザイン・リサーチラボの基盤となる．
建築設計スタジオ2Dでは，実際の地域において，地域づくりの方針，地域の空間や歴史文化，地域を構成する主体，地域を作り運営する仕組み，法規や制度などについて，調査し，デザイン提案をする．デザインは，建築スケールの空間設計と，地域スケールの提案，さらには運営の組織や仕組みなどに及ぶ．また，地域の未来を見据えて，経時的な変化を想定しデザインを行う．他大学や地域組織との合同演習とし，行政，地域住民，地元企業などと連携しながら設計を進める．

Architectural Design Studio provides educational programs for acquiring practical knowledge and skills through distinctive studio-specific training. Simultaneously, it serves as the foundation for a design research lab that cultivates design literacy for real-world architectural design and experiments with the fusion and interconnection of art engineering and design engineering.
In Architectural Design Studio 2D, students investigate and propose designs for actual local areas, focusing on community development policies, the area's spatial characteristics and historical culture, the entities that constitute the community, the mechanisms for creating and operating the community, and relevant regulations and systems. Design encompasses spatial design at the architectural scale, proposals at the regional scale, and extends to organizational structures and operational systems. Furthermore, designs are developed with an eye toward the region's future, anticipating changes over time. This is conducted as a joint exercise with other universities and local organizations, advancing the design process in collaboration with government bodies, local residents, and local businesses.

今日の建築設計者に求められるのは，単に与えられた設計条件に沿った建築を設計する技術ではなく，その地域に求められる適切なプログラム，規模，空間を持った建築を提案する総合的な設計能力である．本科目の目的はその能力を養うことである．

Today's architects are required not merely to possess the technical skill to design buildings that meet given design conditions, but to have comprehensive design capabilities that enable them to propose buildings with the appropriate program, scale, and spatial qualities demanded by their sites and society. The purpose of this course is to cultivate that capability.

都市・地域の視点に立ち，総合的な建築設計の手法を身につけるために，都市の「空間」および「政策・制度・事業」をデザインする能力を磨くことである．授業のテーマは，都市の現状を捉え，未来を構想し，現実に変えるための戦略を練る技術を学ぶことにある．実社会における諸条件を考慮しながら建築設計を行うための実践的演習と位置づけられる．

The objective of this course is to cultivate the ability to design urban “spaces” and “policies, systems, and projects” from an urban and regional perspective, thereby acquiring comprehensive architectural design methodologies. The theme of the course is to learn techniques for grasping the current state of cities, envisioning their future, and formulating strategies to transform these visions into reality. This course is positioned as a practical exercise for conducting architectural design while considering various real-world conditions.

本スタジオは，東京大学，千葉大学，筑波大学と合同で行う「都市環境デザインスタジオ」として実施される．エスキースやプレゼンテーションは，主に柏の葉アーバンデザインセンター（UDCK）及び東京大学柏キャンパスで実施する．

This studio is conducted as the “Urban Environment Design Studio,” a joint program with the University of Tokyo, Chiba University, and the University of Tsukuba. The studio will primarily take place at the Urban Design Center Kashiwanoha (UDCK) and the University of Tokyo Kashiwa Campus.

授業の進捗に応じて，敷地調査，デザインスタディ，模型制作，設計図書作成，プレゼンテーション作成を必ずしてくること．

Site survey, design study, model making, preparation of design documents, and presentation preparation.

調査・設計内容，中間発表会・講評会での発表と質疑応答，成果をまとめたブックレットを総合的に評価する．

The evaluation will be comprehensive, covering the research and design content, presentations and Q&A sessions at the interim presentation and critique sessions, and the booklet summarizing the outcomes.
