建築設計スタジオは，スタジオ毎の特色ある実習を通じ，生きた知識や技術修得のための教育プログラムを提供する場である．同時に，実社会での建築設計にかかるデザインリテラシーを身につけ，芸術工学とデザイン工学の融合・連環を試行するデザイン・リサーチラボの基盤となる．
建築設計スタジオでは担当教員が各々スタジオを編成して建築設計課題を出題し，建築設計スタジオ1Fはそのうちの都市デザインとプレイスメイキングに関わるスタジオである．受講者は1つのスタジオを選択する．1スタジオ10人以下の人数で密度の高い設計，ディスカッションを行う．各教員は現代都市を巡る社会的，空間的諸問題をテーマにした建築設計課題を出題する．プログラムや敷地は必ずしも指定されない．受講者は課題趣旨に沿ったリサーチを行い，プログラム，敷地（場合によっては両方）を自ら企画・立案した上で，最終的に具体的な建築を設計する．

The Architectural Design Studio provides educational programs for acquiring practical knowledge and skills through distinctive studio-specific training. Simultaneously, it serves as the foundation for a design research lab where students develop design literacy relevant to real-world architectural design and experiment with the fusion and interconnection of art engineering and design engineering.
In the Architectural Design Studio, faculty members organize their own studio and assign architectural design projects. Architectural Design Studio 1F is one such studio focused on urban design and place making. Students select one studio to join. Each studio has a maximum of 10 students, enabling intensive design work and discussions. Faculty members assign architectural design projects centered on themes addressing the social and spatial issues surrounding contemporary cities. Programs and sites are not necessarily specified. Students conduct research aligned with the assignment's intent, then independently plan and propose the program and site (or both, as applicable), ultimately designing a concrete building.

今日の建築設計者に求められるのは，単に与えられた設計条件に沿った建築を設計する技術ではなく，その場所に求められる適切なプログラム，規模，空間を持った建築を提案する総合的な設計能力である．本科目の目的はその能力を養うことである．

Today's architects are required not merely to possess the technical skill to design buildings that meet given design conditions, but to have comprehensive design capabilities that enable them to propose buildings with the appropriate program, scale, and spatial qualities demanded by their sites and society. The purpose of this course is to cultivate that capability.

課題を通じて，問題設定，リサーチ，プログラム作成，空間設計，プレゼンテーションを含めた総合的な建築設計技術を身に付ける．成果物として，各自の問題設定，リサーチ内容と整合性の高い設計内容を示す建築設計図書，模型，ドローイングを作成する．

The objectives of this course are to acquire comprehensive architectural design skills through assignments, including problem formulation, research, program development, spatial design, and presentation. Students will produce architectural design documents, models, and drawings, demonstrating their design proposals that are highly consistent with their individual problem formulation and research findings.

授業の進捗に応じて，敷地調査，デザインスタディ，模型制作，設計図書作成，プレゼンテーション作成を必ずしてくること．

Site survey, design study, model making, preparation of design documents, and presentation preparation.

最終プレゼンテーション（建築設計図書・模型等）の内容およびエスキスでの取り組み状況により総合的に判断する．

The final presentation (including architectural design drawings, models, etc.)  and the progress made in the studio will be evaluated comprehensively.
