既存の研究を調査し，その理解に基づいて，誰も答えを出していない計算機科学上の問題に対して，解決法の理論をまとめ，その理論に基づいたシステムを実現する．

Surveying previous works, you propose new theories for solving the problems that anybody has never addressed, and then implement systems based on the theories.

国内外の文献を調査し，自分が興味をもつ分野の深い知識を獲得するとともに，ゼミの発表をとおしてプレゼンテーション能力を向上させる．最終的に，独自な研究を提案する．
本専攻のディプロマポリシーにある「情報科学専攻において修得した高度な専門知識・研究能力と教養をもとに、自ら課題を発見・設定し、解決する能力、および、国際的な視野を持って活躍できる能力」を身に付けるための科目である．

Through surveying previous works including international ones, you can obtain deep understandings about the area in which you are interested, and through talks in our laboratory seminars, you can improve your skill of presentation. After that, you become able to propose your own original approaches and publish them based on the understandings and skills, along the diploma policy of our department.

現実の社会の諸問題に対して，分析能力や問題解決能力を身に付け，解を見つけ出すことができるようになるとともに，実現能力を身に付け，有用なシステムとして具現化できるようになる．

You can obtain not only the skills for analyzing and solving problems in the real world, but also capability of implementing their solvers. Through the processes, you become able to implement useful systems that give innovations to the world.

自分が組み立てた理論を基に役立つシステムとして実現し，論文としてまとめられるよう，十分な時間をとっておくこと．

You have to have sufficient time for implementing useful systems based on your theories and publishing your proposition.

ゼミで指摘された点について，論文や専門書を読み直し，理解を深める．


You have to check articles or books for points out which have been pointed at seminars.

ゼミでの発言状況（20%）と，論文の調査状況（40%）及び研究の進行状況（40%）によって評価する．

You are evaluated based on the state of discussions (20%), surveys (40%), and progress of your research (40%).

・S：到達目標を十分に達成し、極めて優秀な成果を収めている
・A：到達目標を十分に達成している
・B：到達目標を達成している
・C：到達目標を最低限達成している
・D：到達目標を達成していない

1〜15回 　　文献の調査と発表 　　国内外の文献を調査し，自分の興味をもった分野の理解を
深める．同時に，調べた内容をゼミで発表し，プレゼンテーション能力を向上さ
せる．

survey of articles: surveying previous works including international ones, and
understanding the area in which you are interested. Additionally, through
discussions of them, improving the skills of presentation.

16〜30回　　研究の提案と実現 文献の調査によって得た知識を基に，独自の研究を提案す．
　　 さらに，提案手法における理論を確立し，実現した成果物の評価を行う．

proposition and implementation: based on the results of survey, proposing your
own original approaches, establishing proposed theories, implementing them as a
system, and then evaluating the system.
