概要 Description
This class is scheduled for the second semester of the doctoral program's first year. Under the supervision of their faculty advisor, students pursue independent research in physical chemistry, specializing in colloid and interface chemistry.
Building upon the research plan formulated and the technical foundation acquired during the first semester, this class promotes full-scale exploration aimed at addressing specific research challenges. Leveraging advanced expertise in colloid and interface chemistry, students will verify and deepen their hypotheses through multifaceted analysis of data derived from experiments and theoretical calculations. Moreover, students will re-contextualize their findings within existing academic frameworks, rigorously examining both their originality and validity. By logically structuring research outcomes and intensifying preparations for external dissemination—including the drafting of scholarly papers and conference presentations—this class aims to cultivate the advanced practical skills necessary for students to autonomously complete their research as independent investigators and expand the frontiers of knowledge.
Upon completion of this class, students are expected to have acquired the following competencies:

Preparation and review
[Preparation] Students should scrutinize the findings obtained from previous research sessions and experiments, logically identifying subsequent verification tasks by cross-referencing them with existing theoretical frameworks. In preparation for academic dialogues with their supervisors, students are expected to organize concrete evidence—including data and prior literature—that supports their insights and prepare materials that clearly define the points of discussion. [Review] Students should sincerely consider the critical perspectives and advice provided during research supervision and promptly incorporate them into the re-optimization of experimental methods and the reconstruction of their arguments. In particular, students are expected to engage in the daily process of sublimating their results into the framework of scholarly papers or conference presentations, ensuring thorough logical reinforcement to objectively substantiate the originality of their research. Performance grading policy
