概要 Description
創薬科学研究を通して、自ら論理的に考えて研究を実施する基礎的な能力をつける。
Through research of medicinal chemistry, students will acquire the basic ability to think logically and carry out research independently.

目的 Objectives

3年間での学生実習が授業内容に沿った基礎的なものであったのに対し、特別実習ではより高度で専門的な内容になっている。本実習を通じて物事を科学的にとらえ、科学的に考える力を養うことを目的としている。

While the student training over the three years was basic and based on the curriculum, the special training is more advanced and specialized. The purpose of this training is to develop the ability to grasp things scientifically and think scientifically.
到達目標 Outcomes

創薬科学の実験を行い、研究を進めるための知識と技術を習得する。
Students will conduct experiments in drug discovery science and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to advance research.

実験に入る前に参考文献を充分読みこなし、当日使用する方法の原理、予測される実験結果の意味、その後の実験計画等を予め理解し、準備しておく。
Before starting the experiment, thoroughly read the references, understand the principles of the method to be used on the day, the meaning of the predicted experimental results, and the subsequent experimental plan, and prepare accordingly.

授業計画 Class plan
下記の期間での到達目標を達成すべく、自ら研究を進められる基本的知識・技術や態度を修得、また創造する喜びと新たな発見を体験することにより、将来社会が求める優れた研究者などとなることを目標とする。

1期(4月〜6月)  ; 基礎的知識と基礎的技術を習得する。背景となる英語文献が理解できる。
2期(7月〜10月) ; 自身のテーマの問題点を見出し、それらを解決することができる。
3期(11月〜1月) ; 研究を纏めるのに必要な追加実験を計画し、実行することができる。
4期(2月〜3月)  ; 実験結果の再確認とまとめ、卒業発表を行うことができる。

In order to achieve the goals set out below, students will acquire the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to conduct their own research, and by experiencing the joy of creation and new discoveries, they aim to become the excellent researchers that society will demand in the future.

Term 1 (April - June): Acquire basic knowledge and skills. Be able to understand background English literature.
Term 2 (July - October): Identify problems in their research topic and resolve them.
Term 3 (November - January): Plan and carry out additional experiments necessary to conclude their research.
Term 4 (February - March): Reconfirm and summarize experimental results and give a graduation presentation.

In addition, students will learn and acquire the attitudes and skills required for the following research activities, as well as pharmaceutical English.

(1) Practical Pharmaceutical English
General Objectives:
Acquire basic knowledge and skills in scientific English and develop a lifelong learning habit in order to read pharmaceutical-related academic journals, magazines, and newspapers, and to acquire practical English proficiency required in medical settings, laboratories, academic conferences, etc.
