概要 Description
This course provides an introduction to quantum mechanics in English. The lecture will involve reciprocal interaction and discussion in English between the students and the lecturer. We begin by examining key phenomena—such as Bell’s inequality and wave–particle duality—that reveal the breakdown of classical mechanics and motivate the necessity of quantum theory. The Schrödinger equation is then introduced as the central equation governing quantum systems, and students learn to analyse one-dimensional quantum problems. The probabilistic interpretation of the wavefunction, operators as observables, and the computation of expectation values are developed in detail. The course further covers fundamental topics including infinite and finite potential wells, scattering and tunnelling, the harmonic oscillator, spin, two-level systems, and time-independent perturbation theory, establishing a foundation for modern quantum physics.
The objective of this course is to develop a solid understanding of the fundamental principles and mathematical framework of quantum mechanics in English.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to discuss the following content in English:
1. The limitations of classical mechanics using key physical examples. 2. Standard one-dimensional problems. 3. Spin and two-level systems using matrix representations. 4.
