概要 Description
The aim of this course, in line with the objectives of the specialisation, is to equip students aspiring to become CXOs—even those new to economics—with the fundamental economic concepts essential for strategic application within technology management, alongside developing practical problem-solving skills. In light of the intense shifts in domestic and international business environments, leading corporations worldwide are making agile management decisions for tomorrow by adeptly applying the fundamental concepts of microeconomics and macroeconomics – the core mechanisms of capitalism. Therefore, students will not only learn fundamental concepts such as 'transaction costs', 'information asymmetry', 'fallacy of composition', 'yield curve', and 'balance of payments analysis/exchange rates', but also engage in discussions on hypothetical scenarios (hereafter 'case studies') developed based on real-world cases through group discussions and similar activities. This approach ensures that even students new to economics, yet aspiring to become CXOs, acquire the essential practical skills required for their roles. 目的 Objectives
‐This subject is a specialised subject. For the relevance to the Diploma Policy and Curriculum Policy of the department, please refer to the 'Course Guide'. - In the areas related to technology management and economics, students first systematically review the fundamentals of economics, select the most appropriate approach from the perspective of innovation and, through group discussions, learn about the economic situation surrounding their own company (company-wide and in their own department), business partners and competitors, etc.Acquire the basic skills to analyse the economic situation of your company (company-wide and in your own department), business partners and competitors through group discussions, etc. 到達目標 Outcomes

For beginners in economics, it is recommended to review YouTube videos beforehand (e.g., 'Let's Start Economics' https://introduction-to-economics.jp/intro/). Books such as 'The Economics Classroom: What American High School Students Learn' by D.A. Meyer, published by SB Creative (2 February 2022), are also considered accessible. • Furthermore, for clarifying points not fully grasped during lectures, "Krugman's Microeconomics (2nd Edition)" (Toyo Keizai Shinposha) and "Blanchard's Macroeconomics Volume 1 (2nd Edition): Fundamentals" (Toyo Keizai Shinposha, 3 April 2020) prove useful. 授業計画 Class plan
