地震工学に関連する高度な知識を修得するとともに，学位論文の作成に向けた研究を進める。査読付き論文ならびに学位論文執筆に向けてどのような資料・データ作成を行うかを指導する。具体的には既往研究の内容分析を行い、リストを作成する。同時に、進めるべき研究の方向性を確認する。
Along with the learning of advanced knowledge related to earthquake engineering, research for preparing dissertation thesis will be performed. Guidance on collection of necessary materials and analysis method of data related to the making of articles and thesis will be taught. Specifically, analysis of the contents of the previous researches and create a list of them will be performed. At the same time, the direction of research to proceed will be confirmed.

査読付き論文ならびに学位論文を執筆することができる研究レベルとする。　
Training the ability to complete the journal articles and the thesis.

地震工学に関連する過去の研究事例を十分に渉猟し，自ら進めるべき研究の方向性を確認する。データ分析，シミュレーション解析等を通じ，地震工学に関連する高度な知識を修得し，査読付き論文ならびに学位論文の作成に向け，研究能力を高める。　　
Based on sufficient overview of the previous studies related to earthquake engineering, confirm the direction of research to be carried out by yourself. Through the practice of data analysis and simulation, advanced knowledge related to earthquake engineering should be grasped. The ability to make journal papers and thesis will be improved.

最終的に、進むべき研究の方向性を定めることが目的なので、作業途中で何度か指導教員と議論すること。
Because the final target of this course is to find out the suitable direction of research, discussion with supervisor while process is important.

Each student sets a plan based on one-to-one discussion with supervisor, and makes intermediate presentations several times. During the intermediate presentation (sometimes related to submitted academic papers), each graduate student will answer the questions including those from other graduate students.
Participants prepare for the first peer-reviewed papers.
