概要 Description
Work in cutting-edge research in memory materials, devices and related fields. 目的 Objectives
To make the most of your knowledge of physics and technology to achieve improvements in the performance and the miniaturization of electronic devices, especially memory devices, and/or to create new devices with high performance or new functions based on new principles.
You will deepen your learning and research through discussion with others. Active discussion with not only your supervisor and members of the laboratory to which you belong, but also with people inside and outside the university, will make your research fruitful. ・You will develop the habit of always asking yourself: Why is my research theme important? Where is the border between what is known and what is unknown in this research field? In the unknown area, what, how, and how far will I try to elucidate? As a result, what has been revealed, and to what extent? Where is my research positioned in the research field, and what is its originality among the many studies? ・You will obtain an understanding of the current situation in the semiconductor industry and semiconductor memory in Japan, and develop the ability to create innovations in the field.

Preparation and review
Prepare carefully and understand the principles before conducting experiments. This is essential to prevent accidents. ・Prepare sufficiently before making a presentation at a seminar to ensure that the presentation is meaningful for everyone. When introducing a paper, you should understand not only the paper but also the content of the cited references. Performance grading policy

【Schedule】 April–June ・The research theme will be determined after consultation, and a plan and appropriate milestones will be set for its implementation. ・Instruction of fourth-year undergraduate students on basic experimental techniques will be carried out, reconfirming your own basic knowledge and skills. ・A presentation on a concrete research plan based on data from preliminary experiments and the results of literature surveys will be given. July–September ・Establish a research environment by understanding the experimental equipment that is necessary to carry out your own research theme and understanding its principles. ・Repeat preliminary experiments to deepen the understanding of the research theme. October–December ・Deeply consider the general laws of physics behind the measurement data and tentatively construct a theoretical model that explains a series of experimental results. Polish the model and experiments by repeating the design and implementation of the proof experiment and implementing this feedback in the theoretical model and the experimental cycle. January–March ・Prepare materials for an interim report and give presentations to confirm the progress of the research and future directions of the research for writing the master’s degree thesis. Work experience of the instructor
