概要 Description
This is mandatory courses for first doctral cources. Students conduct a high-level exploratory research on materials, structure, process, evaluation or applied method aiming at creation of new information processing / energy conversion device using graphen/ionic conductors and dramatic improvement of performance.
Through research on Applied Physics (1) - (3), students actively engage in research on new electronic devices and advanced materials in order to acquire advanced expertise and skills. Furthermore, students acquire skills setting ability, presentation ability, writing ability and leadership skills that are practical in the real worldThis is course corresponding to "Ability to disseminate (or teach) the results of physics/applied fields and comprehensive viewpoint (and communication skill) based on high ethical view" in this department's diploma policy.
Through applied physics research (1) - (3),1) Students will be able to analyze the problem situation and set the original theme.2) Students will be able to explain the background, purpose, originality etc of the research theme to others in English.3) Students will be able to teach backward about the research theme you set.4) Students will be able to master advanced experimental techniques and analytical abilities.
Course notes prerequisites
*Students must write the research notes on detailed experiment results and considerations.*Students must understand the handling methods of laboratory instruments and chemicals and relevant laws and regulations and study safety as a first priority. Teaching type(Active Learning)

Preparation and review
*Preparation:Before students do the experiment, you have to make an experiment plan and confirm the purpose and significance of the experiment. Also. You need to do enough preparation.*Review: When your experiment is finish, you have to summarize the data and verify that you get results according to your purpose. Performance grading policy
・研究への取り組み: 20% ・研究成果発表(学会): 50% ・研究成果発表(論文): 30% The grade is evaluated by attitude to tackle research (20%), research results corresponding to academic presentations (50%) and State of writing of English papers (30%) 学修成果の評価 Evaluation of academic achievement
A:Achieved outcomes, good result ・B:Achieved outcomes ・C:Minimally achieved outcomes ・D:Did not achieve outcomes ・-:Failed to meet even the minimal requirements for evaluation 教科書 Textbooks/Readings

[Sunjects and Contents] You must conduct research by selecting two from the following three themes. (All students will be required to take more than half of their classes face-to-face.) 1) Fabrication of electric double layer transistors using graphene thin films and ionic conductors 2) Control of electrical signals via the electric double layer effect 3) Performance evaluation of physical reservoirs using NARMA 2 [First quarter] First, students get enough information about prior research by searching. Students set original research theme, and clarify research purpose and originality. Students accumulate experiments and considerations about research themes. [Second quarter] Second, students accumulate preliminary experiments and devise research plans to achieve the set research objectives. Also, you must acquire adequate academic skills appropriate for doctor degree in this field. [Third quarter] Third, students accumulate experiments and considerations. Here, Students must consider whether you can draw conclusions according to your research goals. Students present the research results at academic conferences. [Fourth quarter] Fourth, students summarize the research results of one year and write the research results as English papers. If necessary, students must reconsider research themes and research plans. Work experience of the instructor
