概要 Description
This course aims to help aspiring students flourish in the English-language skills needed for their chosen discipline. Specifically, this course will provide opportunities for them to improve their speaking skills and express ideas, opinions, and feelings in social or business situations. The students are exposed to varied texts with an implicit discussion of grammatical structures (focusing on use, rather than form) and building vocabulary in context. By incorporating note-taking exercises and critical thinking strategies, students will also learn to recognize spoken discourse, identify topics and main ideas, recognize general and specific information in a given text, and produce simple ideas in written form. Listening comprehension, which is also vital, is developed through authentic materials on varied topics. 目的 Objectives
At the end of the course, the students are expected to: 1. Express in English their ideas and opinions on varied topics 2. Discuss openly before groups their summaries, analyses, and reactions to assigned materials 3. Be more sensitive to details in both oral and written sources 4. Become keen to listening and appreciative of presentations
