概要 Description
□This course guides students in developing their master’s thesis in accordance with their respective themes in marketing and social research. Students are expected to advance their research with the assumption that they will engage actively in domestic and international academic conferences, external competitions, and collaborative research with industry partners as appropriate to their chosen topic. In class, each student will present on their assigned area, and the findings will be shared within the seminar for collective learning. Students are expected to attend over half of the scheduled class meetings in person.
□The course is designed to cultivate research competencies in the areas of Management and Management Science, as outlined in the diploma policy of the Department of Business Administration. It also supports students in pursuing research toward their master’s thesis in marketing data analytics and social research.
□Given that students are encouraged to engage actively in external competitions and collaborative research with industry partners, this course emphasizes the development of presentation skills suitable for third‑party audiences. Accordingly, students are expected to refine not only the substance of their research but also their abilities in slide design, academic communication, and professional presentation delivery, with the goal of performing at a level comparable to presentations delivered before corporate representatives. Students will further consolidate their findings into a master’s thesis and produce research that meets the standards required for presentation at domestic and international academic conferences or submission to peer‑reviewed journals. The course also provides training in English presentation and discussion skills to prepare students for participation in international academic forums.

Preparation and review
□Credit recognition for this course is based on the requirement of 90 hours of study per 2 credits, which includes the two hours of each weekly class. Thus, students must allocate about four hours per week to preparation and review. Students are expected to complete the following study activities on their own before the next session. □Review (approx. 2 hours) Students must carefully review the material covered in each session and cultivate the ability to analyze market developments reported in newspapers and other news sources. They are also expected to prepare sufficiently to understand both their assigned portions and those assigned to their peers. □Preparation (approx. 2 hours) Students are required to review and practice the mathematical techniques introduced in the lectures so that they can apply them independently. Additionally, they should prepare sufficiently to engage in discussions on research topics outside their own specialization. Performance grading policy
□Final grades will be determined through a holistic evaluation of students’ understanding of course content, presentation skills, responses to feedback, and the overall standard of the master’s thesis. □Always respond immediately to any communication from the instructor (including emails and phone calls). If you repeatedly fail to respond, points may be deducted, so please be careful. □Participation in undergraduate seminars, conference presentations, and paper submissions will also be evaluated with additional points. Evaluation of academic achievement
