概要 Description
メディア、心理、科学、テクノロジーなどさまざまなトピックの英語のかんたんな文章を読み、その中で学ぶ語彙や文法の知識などを生かして、じぶんの考えや意見を英語で文章にまとめたり、伝えたりして、リーディングとライティングを中心に英語の総合的なスキルの向上を目指します。
目的 Objectives
社会や世界で起こる問題に対して関心を持ち、理解しようと努め、じぶんの考えや意見を的確にことばにし、さまざまな背景を持つ人びとと話し合うことができるようになることを目的とします。
到達目標 Outcomes
つぎの2点を到達目標とします。
1. 英語で書かれた文章の内容を正しく理解できるようになること 2. じぶんの考えや意見を説得力のある文章に構成することができるようになること 卒業認定・学位授与の方針との関係（学部科目のみ）

ペアワークやグループワークを中心に授業を進めます。毎週、授業のはじめに、新たにペアやグループを組みますので、遅れずに出席してください。
アクティブ・ラーニング科目 Teaching type（Active Learning）
課題に対する作文 Essay／ディベート・ディスカッション Debate/Discussion／グループワーク Group work
各Unitで学ぶライティングの方法にもとづいて短い作文を課します。またリーディングのトピックについてペアやグループでのディスカッションを行います。
準備学習・復習 Preparation and review
予習として教科書の指定箇所を適宜1時間程度学習して授業に臨んでください。復習としては、教科書の出版社が提供しているOnline Practiceを活用するなどして、こちらも適宜1時間程度、授業内容の見直しをしてください。
成績評価方法 Performance grading policy
2回のテストをそれぞれ100点満点に換算して採点し、それらの平均を取って成績とします。
