概要 Description
本授業では、社会問題を多角的な視点から論じた教材を扱い、その内容理解および批判的考察を通して、学術的英語による聴解力および口頭表現力の向上を目指す。授業は主としてリスニング活動とスピーキング活動で構成される。リスニング中心の授業では、学術語彙および専門的表現に習熟し、学術的発表や講義の内容を的確に聞き取る力の向上を目指す。一方、スピーキング中心の授業では、個人によるポスター発表に重点を置き、学術会議等におけるポスター発表への応用を視野に入れた実践的能力の養成を図る。
目的 Objectives
本授業は、現代社会における諸問題について主体的に考察し、それらを学術英語で理解し、論理的に議論できる能力を養うことを目的とする。あわせて、教養の深化および学術英語運用能力の向上を図る。

学術英語に馴染みのない学生には、予習として授業前に語彙を確認することを勧める。また、授業内発表のため、授業内容に関係する資料を発表前に調べることも勧める。

小テスト(20%) 授業内発表(30%) 授業参加度(10%) 最終発表（30％）発表ノート（10％）
出席及び遅刻： １、授業開始時間から30分以上の遅刻を欠席と見なす。 ２、三回の遅刻は一回の欠席と見なす。 ３、欠席の限度は四回まで。五回目の欠席で単位の取得は不可能と見なす。 ４、感染病や身内の不幸がある場合、証明を提示した上、担当教員の承認で公欠と見なすことがある。 学修成果の評価 Evaluation of academic achievement
