備考 Remarks
Fluency in a language requires practice, and practice is vital.
In this class you need to speak English. However, do not be worried about or scared about making mistakes - you will be graded upon 2 aspects: 1) your understanding of class material and also 2) your efforts to communicate with your classmates in English as much as possible.

At the end of the class you should be able to:

- feel more comfortable using English
- maintain simple discussions on familiar topics
- give clear descriptions of events and things that are familiar
- understand the main points of native speaker discussions on familiar topics

Basically, you will need to come to class. In class you need to work with other classmates in discussion circles, groups of three and pairs, etc. In addition, you will need to take careful notes during each class. Most importantly, class participation is essential towards your final grade - this means you need to participate as much as possible in each class. You will struggle to get a high grade if you remain a passive listener.

The class plan may be modified according to individual students' needs and/or backgrounds.
