概要 Description
Reading and Writing Skills 2 is the partner course to Reading and Writing Skills 1. Reading and Writing Skills 2 will continue to help lay a foundation for the use of English in the future, at work and in research. This will be achieved by strengthening your grammatical accuracy and vocabulary usage in more practical situations.
目的 Objectives
You will enhance your view on cultural and historical backgrounds of the English-speaking world as well as current global issues by critical reading of appropriate level-graded materials. The main objectives are:
(1) Consolidate vocabulary and grammar studied in Reading and Writing Skills 1 (2) Further improve reading speed (3) Gain accuracy in paragraph-level writing ability 到達目標 Outcomes
Students will further improve their understanding of grammar and how to read critically. This understanding will greatly enhance students’ reading speed, in gaining main points and in answering specific questions about content. Students will gain a better understanding of how to write clear, concise, and grammatically accurate paragraphs that are similar to those necessary in well-known English tests.
This class is devised to help provide the following: •To broaden an outlook on Nature/Human Beings/ Society •To think logically and critically •To communicate ideas •To develop a sense of Internationalization (cross-cultural communication/knowledge of foreign languages/knowledge of other peoples/knowledge of International Affairs) To CV students The Department of Civil Engineering designates this class under learning/education as “Type (E) Nature/Social Studies: Enhancing the ability to carry out Civil Engineering via a thorough grounding and a greater understanding of Nature/Humanities/Social Science”. 卒業認定・学位授与の方針との関係(学部科目のみ)
