概要 Description
Research Mission To elucidate the molecular mechanism of development, differentiation, and homeostasis of the organs such as the skeletal system and kidney, students aim to establish the molecular bases on the prevention and treatment of bone & joint and kidney diseases that remarkably reduce quality of life. Research Vision To elucidate the linkage between failure of the signal transduction mechanism and skeletal and kidney diseases by focusing on signal transduction mechanisms that regulate the skeletal system and kidney. To show the direction of treating skeletal and kidney diseases by operating signal transduction pharmacologically and finally contribute to drug discovery science. In addition to the research mentioned above, regenerative medicine research aiming at the treatment of intractable diseases will be also performed.
In this subject, students try to elucidate molecular mechanisms of development, differentiation, homeostasis, and aging of skeletal cells, including osteoblast, osteoclast, and chondrocytes as well as kidney cells by the approach of molecular cell biology and chemical biology, and aim at contributing to the development of the new treatment and medicine of the skeletal and kidney disease.
