概要 Description

In contemporary markets characterized by product saturation and rapid change, branding constitutes a central component of corporate strategy. The systematic development of a corporate brand or the branding of a new product requires a solid theoretical foundation in strategic brand management.

This course examines the major stages of branding—brand creation, market penetration, maintenance, and expansion—from the perspective of strategic brand management. Students will study key concepts, terminology, and analytical frameworks in branding theory and explore how these frameworks inform managerial decision-making.

Through individual assignments and group work, students will develop the ability to critically analyze branding strategies and apply theoretical models to real market contexts.

目的 Objectives

This course supports the Department’s Diploma Policy, which requires students to acquire broad knowledge of business administration, comprehensively study specialized subjects such as marketing, and complete research on a self-selected theme using advanced disciplinary expertise.

Specifically, students will develop a systematic understanding of branding terminology, core concepts, and analytical frameworks within strategic brand management, and learn how to apply them effectively in market contexts.

Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Clearly explain the concepts of brand and branding in their own words.

  • Apply branding frameworks studied in class to familiar products and services, and critically evaluate their effectiveness.
