概要 Description

After the Industrial Revolution, as the economy has grown by heat engines, thermodynamics has developed based on heat engines.
In that history, entropy was invented as a parameter of heat transfer, and the engineering undergraduate today learns as such.

On the other hand, modern physics considers that material and energy are equivalent.

Since Genesis of the universe all things have continued to disperse, and entropy turned out to be that parameter.

Material and energy with increased entropy cannot be used.

The real systems take in the material of high energy and discard dispersed material and unusable energy (heat).

Heat engines of course, for example, living organisms are active by obtaining food and discard waste and heat.

We cannot solve the difficult problems of modern society without understanding these system essences.

This course will enable students to gain a high level of expertise in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics by using jet engines, the most advanced thermo-fluid machinery, as teaching materials.

Not only that, the course also considers the essence of general systems such as living organisms or global warming from a physical point of view to enhance the ability to solve the difficult problems of the society.

目的 Objectives

This course which deals with jet engines, is highly specialized in aeronautical engineering, but it does not simply provide general knowledge of aeronautics.

Engineers and researchers need to have a fundamental understanding of real systems that operate by absorbing energy and discarding entropy. The objective of the course is that by acquiring this knowledge, they will stand the start of international activity and be successful.

Outcomes

Outcome of the lecture is

Students will acquire problem-solving skills that allow them to think creatively and come up with their own solutions

for the task of the work in the society or difficult issues such as the environment or global warming,
