[Notes for In-Person Classes]
<Prohibited Actions> No Use of Electronic Devices Such as Laptops, Tablets, and Smartphones
In in-person classes, placing a laptop, tablet, or smartphone on your desk without permission is prohibited, as it will not be considered actual participation in class. Failure to comply will result in absence (point deduction) and you will not be given the opportunity to speak (subject to evaluation).
<Leaving class early or arriving more than 10 minutes late> will result in absence (point deduction).

・Comments made in class for discussion purposes in face-to-face classes will make up a large proportion of the grade.

You will not receive credits by simply submitting a regular assignment report without making any comments or discussions,
so please enroll on the assumption that you will attend all face-to-face classes in the classroom and make comments in the classroom.

・If there are a large number of students, a lottery will be held.

・Of the 15 classes in total, 8 will be face-to-face in the classroom and 7 will be asynchronous online (on-demand),
however, there may be changes such as the classroom classes being switched with the asynchronous online classes,
so please enroll on the assumption that you will always keep all 15 class times free.
(Which of the 15 classes will be in-person or asynchronous online (on-demand) will be announced on LETUS and may change at the last minute, so please declare your enrollment with the assumption that all 15 classes will be available at all times.)

- Attendance at least six face-to-face classes in the classroom (lateness or leaving the classroom in the middle will not be permitted) is required (in the case of absence, in order to be fair to other students, absences will be treated as absences in any case, as it does not change the fact that you are not participating in class due to reasons such as attending academic conferences, research events, celebrations, condolences, or illness, and so on.) If you attend less than six face-to-face classes in the classroom, you will not be eligible to receive credits (attending all classes is a prerequisite for enrollment).

- 4th year undergraduate students cannot enroll.

- Only graduate students affiliated with the campus where the course is held can enroll (students affiliated with other campuses, including undergraduate students, cannot enroll).

・Regarding the regular assignment reports that will be evaluated, please note that in addition to asynchronous online (on-demand) sessions, random exercise submissions during face-to-face classroom sessions will also be treated as assignment reports and included in the regular assignment reports.

・Comments for discussion during face-to-face classroom classes (excluding questions) will be an important part of the evaluation (30%).

・Doctoral students must use English when submitting assignment reports and other materials.

・Before and after each lecture, be sure to check the announcements on LETUS, including the class format.

・In order to provide optimal learning for each student, the lesson plan may change.
