概要 Description
The aim of this course is to help learners to develop listening and speaking skills by
using a rich input of contextualized authentic and interesting material. By using
successful listening strategies - predicting, inferring, clarifying and responding -
students are guided through communication tasks which help practice accuracy and fluency of
expression. By incorporating self-expression steps with the listening activities, students
increase their overall oral language skills. A regular test-answering component should
provide useful preparation for the TOEIC test. An increase in TOEIC score by 10% - 20% is quite a realistic goal.
An additional component involves systematic practice for presenting in Engliush.
目的 Objectives
This course is intended for students who have studied English previously
but need further practice in understanding simple conversational language.
The objectives are based around the delivery of topical contents related
to family, shopping or directions in such a way as to raise their ability
to communicate effectively
A further objective will be the successful delivery of a formal presentation or speech.
到達目標 Outcomes

The students should be able to perform a variety of tasks in English
including casual conversation, giving directions, instructions, requests and
suggestions. The essential listening practice exercises throughout the course will
enable the students to listen for key words, details and gist.
The presentation/speech aspect of the course should help students by boosting their confidence and competence in formal speaking.
