概要 Description
Market Microstructure is a subfield of finance that analyzes the trading of financial assets during a day. This area involves extremely large volumes of data, necessitating programming that specializes in efficient data manipulation for effective analysis. Unlike conventional finance theory, the theoretical foundation of market microstructure assumes an information asymmetry among trading participants. This course will cover classical theories through the reading of literature and include practical exercises involving data analysis.
The objective of this course is to provide students with a theoretical foundation for research in the field of market microstructure, as well as to develop data analysis skills using programming languages.
Students will understand the theoretical model structures in books and papers on strategies and institutional design in the short-term trading of financial assets. They will also be able to collect data independently and conduct re-evaluation analyses.
Course notes prerequisites

Preparation and review
Participants are required to present at least twice and provide explanations on the assigned papers or textbooks. Additionally, after lectures on data analysis, students are encouraged to write their own code and experiment independently, with an expected commitment of around five hours per week. Performance grading policy
Assignments (50%) and Participation in Discussions (50%) A submission rate of less than 50% for assignments or absence from assigned discussions will be considered as withdrawal from the course. Evaluation of academic achievement
