概要 Description
This is a four-skill class that includes speaking, listening, reading, and writing. This course will cover various topics, including science and technology, that students will research for presentations. This class will include reading science-related material, watching science-related videos or documentaries, researching topics, writing paragraphs, and doing presentations.

Students will read or view any assigned material, complete any necessary research, prepare presentations to share in class and submit all work, including text, slides, and references. Students must check LETUS weekly for all class information and updates.
成績評価方法 Performance grading policy
Active participation in class (listening and group work) 20%
Presentations: 60% Submission of work on time using proper format 20% Submission rules will be posted on LETUS. Presentations must include slides, references, and the proper format. Points are deducted for work submitted late, submitted improperly, or not submitted. S: To earn an S, a student must: Have no more than one unexcused absence. Documentation is required for any excused absences. Complete all assignments with a score of 90% or better (9 = S) Submit all assignments on time. Do all assigned work. Follow class protocols for submitting work. Demonstrate a willingness to do more than the bare minimum for an assignment (this means do a little extra - longer, more complex answers to questions. Will not rely on AI to write your presentations. Copying/pasting information you did not write will lower your grade to an automatic C. Actively participate in class. This includes being present for presentations even when you aren't presenting. Send one test email to your instructor to confirm that you're following the proper protocol. A: To earn an A, a student must: Have no more than two unexcused absences. Documentation is required for any excused absences. Complete all assignments with an average score of 80% (8 = A) Submit all assignments on time. No missing or late work. Follow class protocols for submitting work. Demonstrate a willingness to do more than minimal work, including writing longer, most complex answers. Will not rely on AI to write your presentations. Copying/pasting information you did not write will lower your grade to an automatic C. Actively participate in class. This includes being present for presentations even when you aren't presenting. B: To earn a B, a student must: Have no more than two unexcused absences. Documentation is required for any excused absences. Complete all assignments with an average score of 70% (7 - B) Submit 90% of all assignments (no more than one missing assignment) Submit all work on time or within 48 hours. After 48 hours, your score is lowered by one full grade. Follow class protocols for submitting work. Will not rely on AI to write your presentations. Copying/pasting information you did not write will lower your grade to an automatic C. Actively participate in class. This includes being present for presentations even when you aren't presenting. C: To earn a C, a student must: Have no more than three unexcused absences. Documentation is required for any excused absences. Complete all assignments with an average score of 60% (6 = C) Submit 80% of all assignments (no more than two missing assignments) Follow class protocols for submitting work Submit all work within one week of the due date. Work submitted after one week will be an automatic C. Will not rely on AI to write your presentations. Copying/pasting information you did not write will lower your grade to an automatic C. Actively participate in class. This includes being present for presentations even when you aren't presenting. F: To earn an F means a student has more than three unexcused absences, has not completed more than two assignments, hasn't turned in their written work, hasn't followed class protocols, doesn't actively participate in class, uses AI to produce class work, and has an average score of 50% or lower on their assignments. (5 = F). Students need to check LETUS weekly for assignments, directions, and any related class information.
