概要 Description
Integrated Skills in English 2A is a one-semester class that builds on what was learned in the first year classes (Freshman English 1 and Integrated Skills in English 1). Integrated Skills in English 2A is taught once a week and is conducted primarily in English. This class continues with a student-centered, active-learning approach.
To CV students The Department of Civil Engineering designates this class under learning/education as “Type (E) Nature/Social Studies: Enhancing the ability to carry out Civil Engineering via a thorough grounding and a greater understanding of Nature/Humanities/Social Science”. 目的 Objectives
In this class you will take control of discussions and improve your ability to talk about various topics connected with social issues. The aim is to further develop your active English language skills.

You will
1) become comfortable with taking risks in your communication in English. 2) explain your opinions using specific examples and reasons about a topic before reading about or listening to it. 3) become able to write medium-length paragraphs. 4) clarify your partner’s meaning and gain further details. 5) paraphrase what you want to say using other words so that your partner will understand you. This class is devised to help provide the following: To broaden an outlook on Nature/Human Beings/ Society To think logically and critically To communicate ideas To develop a sense of Internationalization (cross-cultural communication/knowledge of foreign languages/knowledge of other peoples/knowledge of International Affairs) 卒業認定・学位授与の方針との関係(学部科目のみ)
