建築設計系の設計業務で増加している近現代建築の保存・再生・活用の実務を行う上で、身につけておくべき専門知識や方法論、理論的裏付けなどを総合的に学習する。近現代建築の保存再生計画あるいは文化財整備の設計のための基礎的な理論について学ぶ。授業内で特別講師による保存計画、設計の実務を学ぶとともに、国内外の事例を通して今後のリビングヘリテージとしての近現代建築の保存再生計画について理解を深める。

This lecture is designed to provide students with a working knowledge of the chronology of architectural history and the history of preservation. Students will also conduct archival research and architectural fieldwork as well as discuss historical and contemporary controversies in preservation.
We’ll have several guest speakers who tell us about their professional experiences in preservation and archive.
