はじめに、自然災害や都市災害の事例や歴史を幅広く学習する。次に、都市防災に関する基礎的な知識や技術手法を学ぶ。最後に、都市火災や他の地震災害などに対する防災対策に係る専門的な技術的知識を習得する。
In the first stage of this class, we learn the history and examples of natural and urban disasters. In the second stage, we learn the basic knowledge and skills of urban disaster mitigation. Finally, we study the technical knowledge related to disaster prevention measures against urban fires and other earthquake disasters.

都市災害とその防災についての歴史や基礎知識、技術手法を習得することに加えて、都市防災対策として展開されている具体例を理解する。本専攻のディプロマ・ポリシーに定める高度な専門知識をもとに、国際的な視野を持って活躍できる能力身につける科目である。
The goal of this class is to understand basic knowledge of disasters in urban area and its mitigation measures as well as to understand the concrete examples of disaster preparedness in practice. This course is designed to provide students with the ability to play an active role with an international perspective based on the advanced specialized knowledge as stipulated in the diploma policy of the Department.

自然災害や都市災害の事例や歴史について説明することができる。
都市防災に関する基礎的な技術手法を理解できる。
都市防災に係る専門的な技術的知識を習得し、説明することができる。
Explain the history and examples of natural and urban disasters.
Understand the basic knowledge and skills of urban disaster mitigation.
Understand and explain the technical knowledge and methods for urban planning and fire spread simulation for disaster mitigation from fires and other disasters.

各回の授業前に2時間程度、事前に示した参考資料などを読んでおくこと。
各回の講義内容を1時間程度復習すること。

Reading the reference paper distributed before the class; requires around two hours.
Review the lecture after class; requires one hour.

レポート 70% および講義中の簡易テスト 30% により評価する。
Performance grade based on reports 70％ and by simple tests 30％.

国立研究機関の研究員（建築）及び性能評価の経験を活かし、建築物の火災安全計画に関する講義を行う。
Lectures on fire safety design for buildings will be given by utilizing the experience of researchers (architectural engineering) of national research institutes and performance evaluation.
