この授業は，研究スキル及び関心を持つことができた文献の精査の外に広がるトピックについての学びの文章化に基づき考察に磨きをかけられるようデザインされている．

This course is designed to hone your skills in research and writing by working on a topic that grows out of the material you found most intriguing in literature reviews.

この授業の目的は以下である：
- 研究に関連する概念的モデルを包含するように全体像を俯瞰する，
- 研究目的の枠組みを念頭に，明解でわかりやすい目的の記述についての記述する，
- 関連する既存の文献をわかりやすく精査する．

1. Grasp and overview conceptual models relevant to her/his research;
2. Describe clear and concise purpose statements, delineated by research objectives;
3. Prepare a comprehensive review of the empirical literature related to her/his topic.

次のことができるようになる：

-研究の的確な理論的論拠を説明できる
-研究の必然性を示す背景が記述できる．

Successful student(s) in the course will be able to:
1. Explain an appropriate theory base for their research;
2. Write a narrative that presents a compelling need for their study.

確率論的考察が底流にあることを意識しつつ，以下の完成度が修士論文において確保されるよう全期間に渡って指導する．

- クリアで間違いのない修士論文になるよう，常時用語や記号の使い方などに過誤がないように気を配る，
- 文中に学術的出典を入れることを意識し，オリジナリティーの明確化を念頭におく，
- 十分よりどころとなり得，包括性もある参考文献を明示ができるよう既存の研究に十分留意する，
- 読み手に，興味や気づきを与えるような関心や説得力が伴うような書き方に仕上げられるよう吟味を重ねる．

In the course, each student will be supervised so that the master thesis meets the
perfection level in the following respects:

1) be completed clear and error-free,
2) include proper in-text citations for scholarly sources,
3) include consulted and comprehensive references page(s),
4) impress and compel the audience with interesting, provocative, beautiful writing.

Class format of each lesson will be assigned in advance by the instructor.
